About

Richard Odell - Author

Over the years, I have worn many hats—as a professional model-maker, ambulance man, lithographic printer, and, most recently, a school janitor. Each role gave me insight into resilience, observation, and the small, often unnoticed details of life that make a story feel real.

Now semi-retired, I live on the south coast of England, where the rolling countryside and quiet evenings provide the perfect backdrop for writing. My novel, The Corpse Door, is an exploration of folklore, mortality, and the boundaries between worlds, while my upcoming Mabel Shirley series follows a formidable psychic investigator through the shadows of history, magic, and secret knowledge.

Writing has always been an exploration—of imagination, memory, and the desire to reach beyond the mundane. If you enjoy stories that blur the lines between reality and the supernatural, you’re in the right place.
